The China International Agrochemical and Plant Protection Exhibition (CAC) is organized by the Chemical Industry Branch of the China Council for the Promotion of International Trade and is held annually in March in Shanghai. Since its first session in 1999, CAC has undergone significant development over eighteen sessions, becoming the largest agrochemical exhibition in the world and receiving UFI certification in 2012. This exhibition serves as an important trade exchange and cooperation platform for the global agrochemical industry, integrating new product displays, technical exchanges, and trade negotiations. It is a highly specialized and active agrochemical exhibition, a window for Chinese agrochemical companies to enter the global market, and an annual gathering for global agrochemical professionals.
The "18th China International Agrochemical and Plant Protection Exhibition," the "18th China International Agrochemical Equipment and Plant Protection Machinery Exhibition," and the "8th China International New Fertilizer Exhibition" successfully concluded from March 1-3, 2017, at the Shanghai New International Expo Center. The exhibition utilized six pavilions at the Shanghai New International Expo Center, creating a trade exchange cooperation platform that integrates pesticides, fertilizers, seeds, non-agricultural chemicals, production packaging equipment, plant protection machinery, logistics, consulting, laboratories, and supporting services. A total of 1,336 enterprises from 30 countries and regions participated; compared to the previous exhibition, the number of participating enterprises increased by 10%, and the exhibition area reached 73,000 square meters, a growth of 15%. Among them, overseas exhibitors covered more than 30 countries and regions including Australia, Brazil, Russia, France, South Korea, the Netherlands, Malaysia, the United States, Japan, Switzerland, Thailand, Turkey, Italy, India, Indonesia, the United Kingdom, Vietnam, Taiwan of China, with over 90 overseas companies exhibiting. India, South Korea, Turkey, and Vietnam showcased their national pavilions collectively. From March 1 to 3 during the exhibition period, nearly 30,000 professionals from over a hundred countries visited for discussions. The overseas exhibitor promotion conference held in Hall N5 during the exhibition period saw a surge in popularity.
March is a peak season for agrochemical product demand; participating companies also regard the time before and after the exhibition as an important price increase window. The influence of CAC is evident. The CAC awards not only recognize outstanding performance by companies but also commend their contributions to industry development. On the eve of the exhibition's opening day at the CAC opening dinner, the top twenty Chinese pesticide exporters for 2016 were announced along with the 2015 Overseas Market Expansion Award. Additionally, CAC 2017 recommended suppliers and outstanding fertilizer exporters for 2016 were recognized among these leading industry enterprises. These companies continuously optimize their product structures and intensify efforts to expand into international markets while maintaining supply-side advantages in the global industry.
During CAC's exhibition period, several high-end forums were held including the "11th International Forum on Development of China's Pesticide Industry," "9th World Pesticide Technology and Application Development Academic Exchange Conference (Fuhua Exchange Conference)," "7th China International Non-Agricultural Pesticide Seminar," "3rd International Symposium on Seed Treatment Technology," "6th China International Biological Control Technology Development Forum," as well as "Fertilizer Development and Trade Forum" among ten international market report meetings and academic exchange conferences. The guest lineup was impressive with many prominent figures attending; it has become a peak event for intellectual exchanges each year. The conference invited numerous global experts along with many leading figures from enterprises to provide insights into the agrochemical industry and strategize for corporate development.
Through continuous refinement and growth, CAC's international agrochemical exhibition has expanded in scale and increased its international influence. The 2018 exhibition will be held from March 7-9 at Shanghai New International Expo Center in Halls N1-N5 and E7. It promises to be a larger-scale event with more international guests; we look forward to seeing you again!
